Client: Objects is a travelogue: the world as seen through the eyes of designer Pamela Peterson. It is both a record of her travels and a repository of her collected treasures, tales, pictures, and inspiration.
Project: We brought to life this minimalistic design created by Tracie Designs (. The white background and lack of distracting periphera is remniscent of many fine museums. This museum happens to feature the gorgeous travel photography (and commentary) of Pamela Peterson.
Connection: Ms. Peterson was a one-time client of my friend and colleague Jason Hughes (www.1976inc.com). Mr. Hughes had started working for a new company, didn't have time to devote to the project, and recommended me for the job.
ObjectsBlog The treasures, the tales, the pictures, the characters, the inspiration all find a home base in a blog, and a brand, called Objects. The dictionary defines “object” as a thing, a being, or a purpose. The object of the blog, and the brand, is to share the objects I discover…and to surprise, intrigue,...

Client: Moveable Type is a mobile print shop built into the back of a 1982 Chevy step van. In June 2011, letterpress artist Kyle Durrie embarked on a year-long tour—criss-crossing North America to spread the love and share her enthusiasm for printing the old fashioned way.
Project: Ms. Durrie needed a socially interactive website to chronicle her continuing adventures. We worked with the Bureau of Betterment (www.bureauofbetterment.com) to design a site that features a road blog, tour dates, maps, and videos. The site allows visitors to subscribe to the blog, request a visit, and even contribute to the project. Pretty fonts are courtesy of Typekit (www.typekit.com).
Connection: Mette Hornung Rankin of the Bureau of Betterment worked with my wife at Sockeye.
Moveable Type | Cross-country Adventures in Printing Meet Cassie – aka Cowsie, aka Couchie, aka Turkey, aka Scooper. Cassie is an old friend from college (actually, she’s 7 days younger than I am, which makes her VERY young). She lives in Maine in a beautiful house with her love (and my dear friend) Mark, and their cat Scout, who is black and white....

Client: Wild Goose Farm is a 5-acre family farm on Sauvie Island in Portland, Oregon. They are involved in a kind of public homesteading, learning as they go and sharing the fruits of that knowledge by making and serving good things to eat.
Project: Farmer Doulis wanted a website to document his small farm where he and his family raise animals; gather honey and eggs; grow a wide variety of vegetables and fruits; make artisan cheeses and beverages; host farm-related workshops; and throw fabulous outdoor dinners for friends and family. The website is appropriately small, colorful, and inviting.
Connection: Para-farming is the second vocation of my client Yianni Doulis.
Wild Goose Farm | Sharing the Food We Grow with Others We are a 5-acre family farm on Sauvie Island that wants to share the adventure of eating the food we grow with others. We are involved in a kind of public homesteading, learning as we go and sharing the fruits of that knowledge by making and serving good things to eat.
Client: The Rock Wood-fired Pizza & Spirits opened in 1995 as a gritty, local pizza joint in Tacoma, Washington. Today, the Rock is a family-focused, full-service casual dining concept serving an array of food and drinks from locations across Washington State and as well as Colorado and Canada.
Project: The Rock wanted a website that reflected the character of their rock-n-roll-themed restaurant franchise. We produced a site, designed by the Rock, which features a music player, rolling news ticker, full menu, and information on all 13 of their locations. The site was built in WordPress for easy client-side editing.
Connection: I was referred to this project by Von Glitschka.
