PDX Hacks & AI Collective is hosting a one-day hackathon focused on building with frontier AI.

​PDX Hacks & AI Collective brings together the city’s sharpest engineers for intensive one-day hackathons focused on building with frontier AI. Each event spotlights a different platform, toolchain, or challenge—pushing Portland’s builders to master the full landscape of modern AI development. Participants will build agents, tool-use pipelines, multi-model workflows, and more - using Claude in meaningful ways.

Event Highlights:
· Solo or teams of up to 4
· One full day to build
· API credits provided to all participants (courtesy of Anthropic)
· Judging by industry engineers, investors, and media

Who should attend?
​This is a hackathon for engineers already building with frontier AI models and modern frameworks. If you’re shipping production code, experimenting with cutting-edge tooling, or pushing what’s possible with LLMs, you belong here.

Getting Set Up with Claude Code. (How to get accepted into the Claude Portland Hackathons)

Curious about building with Claude? Join us this Saturday for a hands-on workshop with Todd Greco, Director of AI Outcomes at Slalom, who brings nearly three decades of experience working at the intersection of AI, design, and technology.

Todd will walk participants through setting up the Claude Code environment and using Claude directly in the terminal to support real development workflows. This beginner-friendly session will help you get started quickly with the tools developers are using to build AI-assisted software today.

After the workshop, stick around for an open build session where participants can experiment, collaborate, and start turning ideas into working projects.

🌍 Last Monday, had the privilege of hosting a delegation of international students for a panel discussion with some of Portland’s most innovative entrepreneurs!
