BIG things are happening at Portland Christian Elementary School! Today our fantastic facilities staff, board members, and volunteers from school families showed up in full force in the heat to disassemble and haul a $200,000 playground — gifted from the Lake Oswego School District! We’re talking tire swings, a hamster wheel, climbing courses, rolly slides, and more — all coming home to PC!

Special thanks to East County Custom Homes and to Antonov Construction.

Thank you to every single person who donated their time and who brought their tools, their trailers, and their muscles today. Our kids are SO lucky to have a community like this behind them. 💛💜

We need additional help tomorrow, 6/16 - for day 2. We’ll be at Forest Hills Elementary (1133 Andrews Rd. Lake Oswego) at 9am to pull concrete posts and finish the job. Backhoe needed!

The Fine Arts Committee (FAC) celebrated PC high school arts students with an evening that began with the high school arts showcase. Teachers from the high school arts department, Mrs. Kristen Caldwell (Technical Theatre), Mrs. Evy McLean (Art), Mr. Joseph Ostrand (Band & Choir), Ms. Tiffany Redwing (Yearbook), and Mrs. Lisa Singleterry (Drama), recognized and handed out awards, certificates and pins for Varsity Letters, Scholastic Art Awards, National Art Honors Society, Thespians, Department Awards and roses to seniors. 🎭 🎶🎨 🎺

FAC awards were given for:

Freshman Rookie of the Year - Kayla Li
Freshman Rookie of the Year - Caroline Smith
Sophomore Rookie of the Year - Adam Xiong
Renaissance - Olivia Felton
Inspiration - Kai Sherman

PC is so grateful to the FAC committee members (Nancy Watkins, Erin Lowe, Molly Smith, and Windee Klinger) who volunteered through the years. Departing senior parents Windee Klinger and Molly Smith were honored by arts department chair, Kristen Caldwell, with gifts of the students' framed artwork.
