Proactive wellness is the foundation of independence. While managing a spinal cord injury requires daily focus, staying ahead of general health milestones is equally vital for long-term vitality.

Join us for this essential session in our ongoing series on Women’s Health After SCI. We are moving beyond injury management to focus on the preventative measures that every woman needs, tailored specifically for the SCI community.

Why Attend This Session?
Preventative care often presents unique logistical hurdles for women with paralysis. This forum addresses those challenges head-on, providing practical advice and expert insights on:

Mammograms & Breast Health: Navigating equipment accessibility and positioning tips for a successful, stress-free screening.
Managing Cholesterol: Understanding how SCI affects metabolic health and strategies for keeping your heart healthy.
The Preventative Roadmap: A guide to the screenings you shouldn't skip—from bone density scans to routine blood work.
Provider Communication: How to advocate for your specific needs in a standard clinical setting.

Our Goal: To empower you with the knowledge to manage your health confidently and ensure your preventative care is as comprehensive as possible.

This February, OSCI invites you to connect with us across Oregon.

We’re bringing people together with meetups in Salem, Portland, Klamath Falls, and Medford - creating opportunities to share, learn, and grow side by side.

We’ll also host a couple of virtual Encuentros in Spanish, creating a space for connection across language.

In Portland, join us at Bike Farm for a hands-on wheelchair maintenance workshop.

Plus, we’re excited to launch our first women’s health forum of the year! Focused on sexual health, pleasure, and reproductive care for those with spinal cord injury.

Come be part of the conversation; our community is stronger when we come together.
