Due to the next ice storm set to hit our office tomorrow morning we are canceling all appointments for Tuesday January 16th 2024. We hope to be back in the office on Wednesday to get all our patients rescheduled. This is for the safety of all our patients and staff. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Hope everyone is safe and warm.

Your job could affect your smile, here we tell you how!⬇

✅Job stress can lead to poor oral health habits, like skipping brushing your teeth or not flossing when you find yourself overworking and not having the necessary time to address important hygiene habits.

✅Job stress can also cause you to snack more, often on sugary, which contributes to tooth decay.

✅Overworking can also lead to mouth dryness, which can promote the growth of bacteria and lead to gum disease. An easy way to help combat this is to keep a water bottle at your desk.

✅Stress can also make it difficult to keep up with regular dental appointments, which means that problems are more likely to go undetected and untreated.

✅Finally, job stress can lead to teeth grinding or clenching, which can wear down tooth enamel and cause other problems like jaw pain or headaches.

If you’re feeling stressed out at work, don’t forget to take care of your oral health and schedule a checkup and cleaning with your dentist before the end of the year!

💡Your saliva contributes to your general and oral health in ways you may not be aware of. The production of saliva is also essential to a cavity-free healthy mouth and proper digestion.

Saliva in the mouth cleanses the mouth of food waste. Chewing and swallowing initiate digestion, but they are useless in the absence of saliva.
