All My Favorite Things

1:40 PM 4th of July.
It was quite a holiday yesterday. Driving back from the store I found this dude. No collar, no tags, lost.
Took him to Banfield hospital (closest to us). No chip. After leaving Banfield, I stop at Petco to get a harness and leash. Customers there are saying the usual “what a cute dog” and people hear his story- 3 people say they’ll adopt home on the spot. I take phone numbers, saying we are hoping to reunite first.
3 pm Bring him home, my pups are NOT pleased (yep, capital letters- Lucky wants nothing to do with this dude). Big lab Lady, follows Lucky’s mood.
My animal lover and partner in crime (with anything that has to do with dogs or cats) neighbor (best neighbor ever) comes to the rescue. She’s keeping him while we are looking for a new home for him.
7:30pm.
The lost dog ad for him we finally find (thanks to one of the people at Petco that really wanted him), and we connect with his owners. Sure enough, not that far from where I found him is his home. So happy to see him!
8 pm- a TON of Fireworks are going off~
on our way home relieved our little guy got reunited. He’s happy to see them.
