Visit to see the exhibition Aztec Stories in Modern Mexico: An Inocencio Jiménez Chino Retrospective.

It’s a rare, intimate look at the memories and daily life of the Balsas River basin, and a 50-year commitment to preserving Nahuatl storytelling through traditional amate bark painting. 🪾

A culture that is still as vibrant today as it was centuries ago. On view now through June 28th ✨

Today opened at EXPO Chicago with nine artists working across calligraphy, landscape, and photography: Xu Bing, Wang Dongling, Zhang Yu, Chu Chu, Victoria Yau, Hung Liu, Wang Tiande, Tai Xiangzhou, and Huang Hairong. The presentation spans three generations and draws on the full breadth of the gallery’s program, with particular ties to Chicago’s institutional collections. Tai Xiangzhou’s work is held by the Art Institute of Chicago, and Victoria Yau was recently exhibited at Northwestern’s Block Museum.

The booth follows Qualia’s debut at Art Central Hong Kong in March, where the gallery presented new work by Lyu Peng and Xu Hongming in the fair’s Duo Projects section. Both appearances in the same season mark a significant moment for a program that director Dacia Xu has built steadily over six years around the dialogue between Eastern and Western contemporary art.
