To every family in England who has experienced the heartbreak of their child being subjected to restraint, seclusion, or other harmful practices at school: We want to amplify your voice! 📢
Together, we can demand dignity, healing, and inclusion for our kids.
Lives in the Balance is partnering with International Coalition Against Restraint And Seclusion to gather firsthand accounts from families across England. Far too many vulnerable children are being isolated and harmed by broken systems when they should be met with understanding and care.
If your child or family has been impacted by these harmful practices in an English school, please take a few minutes to share your experience through an anonymous survey.

As we continue exploring Collaborative & Proactive Solutions, we’re also expanding into advocacy, systems change, and the policies and practices that shape how kids are treated every day.
Our newest episode, hosted by Ben Jones, Director of Legal & Policy Initiatives, explores the issue of Preschool Pushout. Every year, our youngest learners are pushed out of early childhood education settings through formal expulsions and informal exclusionary practices that leave children and families without support.
We hear from two experts and a parent not only about the depth and personal impact of this issue, but also about how we can make progress in the name of kids.
