The Gateway Discovery Park Pavilion is a landmark and beacon for Portland's Gateway neighborhood. SEA's design has an intriguing quality, where, depending on your viewpoint, the appearance and experience of the structure change. The architectural approach sought to inspire investigation, create shelter, and be a beacon in the night.

Scott Edwards Architecture believes in a people-first world. As designers of the built environment, our role is to create spaces that are responsive, thoughtful, and supportive of the people who use them.

At SEA, we purposely design in a range of markets so that when our team’s experience and array of perspectives combine, it results in unexpectedly creative solutions. Led by our curiosity at first, and now more of a commitment to the value of doing so, we make it a point to design a new project type every year. In 2025, this project was the Pickathon Fractal Forest Stage and Neighborhood, our first music festival installation.
