Second single “Pulse” is out today! Check out the full video on YouTube. It’s one of the weirdest things I’ve made! Let’s call it “Surrealist Jane Fonda Style.” :)

This song is about feeling the pulse of life. It’s about trusting that good things are coming despite all the suffering and chaos around us. This is sonically the most dense song on the album — it was fun to bring it to life track by track in the studio. I played my niece’s bass and my stepkids’ drums on this one. My favorite part of this song is the dissonant duet between my electric guitar and the sax (played by special guest “Filthy” Lucre). I also like how it feels like the song is falling apart in places...

It was fun to make the music video for this which features my new blended family in a home gym environment. I wanted to make an exercise video because it fits with idea of an elevated pulse (referencing the title) but also because I’ve been getting into weight-lifting in recent years and can now deadlift 110 pounds!
