The City of Portland and Multnomah County Fire Defense Board is setting Monday June 15th as start of the summer burn ban. With an exceptionally dry winter with lots of dry fuels throughout the region, are gearing up for what could be a significant fire season.

The ban includes backyard burning-recreational fire pits-agricultural burning.

Outdoor cooking is permitted using smokers-grills-open flames but PF&R asks you to be extremely cautious if using wood or briquettes. Make sure to drown all ashes from briquettes to completely cool prior to disposal in a metal can without any other material.
