Up until 1994, we were the Portland Rowing Club, a revival of one of the oldest rowing clubs west of the Mississippi, but following a legal split from a houseboat moorage of that name, we are the Portland Boat Club. We offer our members the benefits of belonging to a competitive club. We offer camaraderie with a focus on improving sculling performance, use of club boats, as well as moorage for privately owned boats. We are located on the Multnomah Channel, just south of the Sauvie Island Bridge.

From the PBC archives: 30 years ago, the winter weather was nightmarishly worse than this week's highly anticipated but ultimately unremarkable storm! From Feb 5-9, 1996, a record snow pack melted, and along with heavy rain, caused the Willamette River to reach the flood stage and beyond and wreaked havoc on boathouses and moorings all along the river. If you remember this storm, share your stories in the comments! Stay safe out there, winter rowers!
