ThermaChannel Energy Efficient Steel Framing
ThermaChannel Energy Efficient Steel Framing is a low-cost solution to thermal bridging. 16% improvement in r-value of walls proven by Oak Ridge National Laboratory in testing.
We are excited to announce the award of a new patent for an enhancement to the ThermaChannel stud. It will feature foam insulation in the fl**ge cavity. We will be testing this new design this year and will post a photo as soon as we have a prototype.
With funding tight for construction, people should be looking for high-value, low-cost ways for higher efficiency. Voila ThermaChannel!
Looking into Hawaiian code issues. Let us know if this is of interest.
Architects and developers: can you please comment on the demand for higher performing steel framing, with regards to thermal? Believe it or not, manufacturers perceive "no" demand for such innovations -- truly mind boggling. Comment!!
Currently eyeing testing for various wall assemblies for high-performance energy efficiency in wall assemblies at a low cost.
Summer 2010 new design patent filed for ThermaChannel Ultra, even more energy efficient steel framing, insulated steel studs.
Just concluded another mock-up test wall of 6" studs of varying gauges (14, 16, 18), with 5/8" Certainteed Drywall, and Certainteed GlasRock sheathing. According to framers, all went well.
