Provider Spotlight! Allie Brown, MFTA
“I see therapy as a process of exploration, or a space to experiment with new behaviors and perspectives, and to practice skills that you can carry back out into your real life. At my core, I believe that people are inherently capable of growth and change. Therapy isn’t about prescribing a ‘right way’ forward, it’s something we do together, at your pace, in hopes of coming closer to the life you want to live.
With children, I use Child-Centered Play Therapy, with the belief that play is a child’s first language and the therapy room is a place where they can use it freely and fully. With teens, I draw from CBT and DBT tools to help them build coping strategies, navigate big emotions, and explore identity. With couples, I blend Narrative, Person-Centered, Experiential, and Emotionally Focused approaches, tailoring my work to each unique relationship. I also partner with families and parents, using a systemic lens to explore family roles, build confidence, and strengthen connection at every level of the family system.”
