Chris for Portland
I'm Chris Flanary and I ran for Portland City Council District 3 in 2024.

I believe in the common good, that investing in people is the way forward, and that we all do better when our communities are strong.

Spent the evening at with Melina, campaign staff, and supporters… and of course, and , two organizations whose support I was thrilled to have in this historic election.
We still have a lot of results to see over the next few days, but at this moment, I just want to thank everyone who volunteered, donated, supported, and voted, from a full and grateful heart.

Fam!
This will be a trying day for a lot of us — and the start of the end of a rough election season.
Stay strong and help each other.
And if you need a replacement ballot, go to https://www.multco.us/orderahead, or call 503-988-VOTE for any elections help.
They’re open until 8pm, and you have until 8pm to drop your ballot at:
- 1040 SE Morrison Street in Portland, or
- 600 NE 8th Street in Gresham.
And remember, don’t choose more than one candidate in each rank! You can only have one #1, one #2, and so on.
Let’s get to work!

My commitments to Portland and Portlanders.
[ID. Image 1: The word “Commitments” on a green background, with the Chris Flanary for Portland District 3 logo below.
Image 2: Portland Street Response. I commit that if elected I will prioritize, introduce budget amendments, and vote in favor of full funding for expanded 24/7 citywide Portland Street Response coverage in every budget cycle.
Image 3: No Police Money. I pledge not to take contributions from the police, prison and incarceration industry, not to seek their endorsement and to publicly reject their independent expenditures. I will instead prioritize the wellbeing and safety of every member of our community.
Image 4: No Fossil Fuel Money. I pledge not to take contributions over $200 from oil, gas, and coal industry executives, lobbyists, or PACs and instead prioritize the health of our families, climate, and democracy over fossil fuel industry profits.
Image 5: Green New Deal. I pledge to use my office to advance the most progressive climate policy available and to proactively and publicly push for its swift passage.
Image 6; Patients Over Profits. CEOs and lobbyists for Big Pharma, corporate insurers, and private hospitals have formed a front group called Partnership for America’s Healthcare Future that wants to exploit our healthcare system to make money off of keeping us sick.
I pledge to put patients over profits and not take contributions over $200 from the executives, lobbyists, and PACs affiliated with the corporate health care industry, including private insurers, pharma corporations, and private hospitals who are organizing to take over our health care system.]

has the right idea! Speaking of voting (and who isn’t today?), be sure to only select ONE CANDIDATE PER RANK. If you choose two or more , , etc, none of your selections for that rank will count. 😢
Confused about how to complete your ballot? We love this video from a supporter that explains ranked choice voting. 🔥HOT TIP🔥 We’ve heard from some voters who have ranked multiple candidates #1. Please don’t do this… the election rules say that those votes will not get counted if you do.

Honored to receive ’s endorsement!
If you’re not familiar with them, they’ve done an incredible job of doing in-depth interviews with all progressive candidates. If you’re just starting to do your research, they’re a great place to begin.
My episode is linked in my bio, and I highly recommend everyone checking out the recent district-by-district voter’s guide episodes.
