You can still keep the clean, classic look of a gentleman’s haircut while maintaining nice natural layers on the sides. A lot of people think going shorter automatically means losing that traditional shape, but that’s not the case. The key is keeping the layering intact so the haircut moves naturally and sits properly when styled.

One thing that really helps the haircut last longer is adding a bald or shadow taper at the neckline instead of leaving a blunt line across the back. A hard blunt line can start looking grown out in just a few days, but a taper allows the hair to grow in more gradually.

By blending the neckline down into a taper, you keep that polished, classic look while also giving yourself a few extra days before the haircut starts looking grown out. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in how long the haircut stays looking fresh
