Is this movie a modern day TERMINATOR 2?

ONSLAUGHT looks like a blast. Adria Arjona as ex-military fighting off an army of super soldiers? That’s the kind of movie we’ve been missing!

I love science fiction action movies. The 80s were chock full of them, and then everything shifted to superheroes. I’m glad this genre is coming back, and Adria Arjona looks like she’s ready to kick some ass.

With director Adam Wingard’s past in slasher/home invasion thrillers with YOU’RE NEXT and sci-fi action with GODZILLA V KONG, I have high hopes for this movie!

ONSLAUGHT will hit theaters from A24 on Labor Day weekend, September 7, 2026. I can’t wait to check it out!

Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen from How To Catch A Predator? I’m in.

PRIMETIME is a new biopic on Chris Hansen coming from A24 that looks like it’s going to be a beautiful nightmare.

If they tell the whole story;m, it’s going to be a disturbing one. The concept of the show and the men they catch are disturbing. The after effects and failure of the show allowing these men to walk free is disturbing. And the way the whole show fell apart might be the most disturbing part.

Lance Oppenheim is a great pick for director on this. His documentary storytelling and style will be perfect for this story. Robert Pattinson is probably setting himself up for some awards buzz too. I bet this lands somewhere between a true story like Foxcatcher and a disturbing spiral and criticism of media like Nightcrawler.

Count me in. PRIMETIME is coming from A24 in September of 2026.

The French Connection is simply one of the best crime movies ever made.

The cast is stacked and William Friedkin is at his best as director. The best part of the movie is probably the famous car chase scene, but I loved all the character work and slower detective moments just as much.

It’s an excellent snapshot of late 60s/early 70s New York City based on a real drug bust from the 1960s. The movie won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor at the 1972 Academy Awards - all well deserved.

Make sure you get the DVD or Blu-ray, because the Disney+ and streaming versions are censored, which sucks. Another knock against streaming and another point for owning your media on a physical format. But if you watch, please find a disc so you get the real deal.

The mainstream media is getting the story behind the box office success of Obsession and Backrooms all wrong.

The headlines are clickbait and hyperbolic. They ignore the progression of horror movie history. They also ignore the overwhelming support of movie theaters by younger audiences, who buy the vast majority of tickets.

They’re treating this like taking someone from YouTube and making a movie with them is the formula. But Kane Parsons, Curry Barker, the Phillippou Brothers, and all the other breakout stars before them aren’t a mistake. They’re visionary storytellers. YouTube is just the modern day creative outlet.

I hope Hollywood doesn’t make the same mistake they always do, going in way too hard on a trend and ignoring the underlying reasons behind the success. They probably will, because they’re totally out of touch. But there’s a real lesson here, and it’s the same one that’s been driving film since the earliest days - storytelling wins. It’s not the format, the place people came from, or their background. It’s the story.
