đ Meet Coach Carl Sommer! He played at Milwaukie High School for 3 years before finishing his senior season at Wilsonville. He entered that year with 5 full-ride D1 offers (Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Boise State) and was ranked the #48 tight end in the nation. Carl signed early with Oregon State and transitioned to defensive end. After two seasons, he transferred to Portland State, where he played TE, DE, and long snapperâearning All-Big Sky honors at DE in 2010. He medically retired in 2011 after a neck injury that required three surgeries.
đ At camp, Coach Carl is most excited to coach DE/Edge Rushers, bringing years of experience under elite coaches. Football gave him a lotâand now heâs focused on giving that knowledge back.

đ„ Fun fact: Coach Carl is also a professional MMA fighter.
