A few months ago, I was asked to put together a children’s show for Sherwood Center of the Arts on May 14th. I thought this would be a good opportunity to fulfill a longtime dream of combining giant puppets and circus arts. I asked my talented puppeteer and seamstress friend Meg Harris of Puppets and Pastries (mobile.facebook.com/Puppets-and-Pastries-LLC-465397850304981/?) if she could make a giant monster puppet to be the main character of the show. Well, here he is! Garbonzo is his name and he’s an imaginary friend looking for his child. He stands about 4.5 feet tall and is a very sensitive guy.
Also, I’m really excited about the lineup of this show; music by the Tangled Threads (www.thetangledthreads.org/), physical comedian Tommy Twimble of MadCap (www.tommytwimble.com/), contortion by Lisbeth Mikoleit, narration by Brianna Barrett and acrobatic routines by me, Lucanas and Madoc of Kazum.
