Today we start our alphabet countdown til the 2024-2025 school year and we are doing fun letter theme days! Today the kids brought an apple to school for the letter “A” to snack on & use for art time! Also, if you are interested in a spot in the only Reggio-Inspired preschool in Bridlemile…. We only have one more spot left! I expect this to be filled by the end of August, so if you’re interested in touring the space or upgrading your current spot - do it now! You can set up a tour by messaging this Facebook business page, or email us!

100 ways to explore eggs,
A project series:

Today, we decided to get in the kitchen & do a little crash course on making scrambled eggs! We decided they would be better with some cheese & bacon too! and even better.. everybody was safe while cooking today! We start cooking courses as early as 2 at Emerald, and the children did a wonderful job & we all had a family-style breakfast gathering after!

Learning how to cook at a young age is beneficial for toddlers in numerous ways. Firstly, it fosters a sense of independence and self-sufficiency as they learn to prepare simple meals or snacks. This early involvement in food preparation also promotes healthy eating habits and encourages them to appreciate a variety of nutritious foods. Additionally, cooking provides opportunities for sensory exploration, fine motor skill development, and cognitive growth through following instructions and problem-solving. Moreover, cooking with toddlers creates valuable bonding experiences with caregivers and cultivates a positive attitude towards food and family meals. Overall, teaching young children how to cook sets a foundation for a lifetime of culinary skills and a healthier relationship with food.

We are over the moon.. learning about space! So far we have covered constellations, the moon, planets, astronauts, gravity, craters, and meteors! I need to be better at posting our activities on here, with small tutorials so those of you following at home for curriculum know how to do these activities!

CRATER ACTIVITY:
ingredients: corn starch OR baking soda, non-scented conditioner, water.

Directions: mix these ingredients (baking soda as the base) until you get a milky sand type feeling. It should stick slightly together like snow, but also be able to fall apart.

Once mixed, you can put into a circle lid to represent the “moon” and grab some of your favorite marbles or stones to have your child drop down on the moon to enforce craters to manifest.

The kids love this activity and love seeing the different size craters each different stone created, and also experimented on how hard to drop or throw down the rock.

If our curriculum sounds like it would be fun for your child, and you can travel or live close to bridlemile… we still have spots left for preschool!
