A sad day 😔! The bike ride ended with a trip to the ER. A small lapse turned into a tumble, and Arya was badly hurt. This happened on Friday evening. Thankfully, no broken bones or concussion — just bruises and a shaken day.

People sometimes ask, “Why do you do these things with Arya?” The answer is simple: we want her to have a life filled with the same experiences any kid would. And yes, even the not‑so‑fun ones. Bike accidents happen to countless children; it just wasn’t one we planned for Arya, but it’s part of giving her a full, real childhood.

We don’t know how long her recovery will take, but we’re holding onto hope — the same hope that always carries her forward. She’ll be back out there soon.

We ran into a handful of issues with Arya’s trike that needed immediate attention. The brake on her handlebar—what we use to control her speed on downhills and keep her safe—snapped, so getting it repaired before tomorrow’s Red, White & Blues by became top priority. We took it to REI and got it fixed.

We also went through our multi‑point pre‑race checklist to make sure everything is safe, secure, and ready for race day. The goal is always the same: give Arya the best possible experience out on the course. These wheels bring so much joy so we need to show proper love.

Monthly morning miles hosted by at the Vancouver location. Great crowd and good vibes chasing ducks this morning. We had to wake up very early today to go there but Arya was in a good spirit.
