Sunday, May 29th at noon is our weekly clean-up at JBL.
Monday, May 30th at 6:30pm (pst) we’ll have our weekly volunteer info session. Held on Zoom.
Thursday, June 2nd we are hosting another Community Education event via Zoom. This week the topic is “Meet PHP” and we will be doing a deep dive into our operations, showing you how we do the work and how you can too.

A major development since our reorganizing: We have combined our shelter and employment budget into what is currently a $2500 (minimum) community budget. This money is entirely within the democratic control of nine, self-selected members of our growing democratic houseless community.
The budget can be used to:
- directly compensate houseless Core Members each month for doing their daily responsibilities
- construct more emergency shelters
- organizing special projects like shelter maintenance, showers, toilets, landscaping, etc
- purchase communal food and necessities
Empowering homeless folks to democratically determine their own destiny through direct economic, emotional, and material support, is a key part of fixing the “homeless problem.” Our focus is on sustainable, long-term growth, both for housed organizers and houseless leadership.
The camp is excited to participate in the building of this project -- you will be seeing and hearing more from them directly in the coming weeks and months!
