A bit of our progress after being in our new Portland tufting studio after 2 months, and a little reflection on where we were at a year ago.

Last year at this time, opening a studio was just a dream. When I finally did it, I wasn’t even sure it would work. I am extremely glad I took a leap though because it has been life changing in so many ways, and all the hard work has been worth it.

If you are in Portland, and want to check out the studio - we will be having a studio warming party this Sunday 4/26 from 3-9pm with free tacos, a community rug project, and discounted class offerings. I’d love to see you there 🙂

If you need a last minute gift or something to do with the family around the holidays, skip buying stuff and learn how to make a rug with us instead! I recently opened where you can create or submit a design and learn how to tuft it from start to finish. This is a great way to share a creative experience and you get to keep the rug you made yourself.

Big news! I am opening a tufting studio (yet to be announced) located with studio mates .art !

I have been teaching tufting workshops out of my home studio for a year and a half or so, and I’ve simply outgrown my space. It’s time to separate the two, and I’ve found an amazing community of likeminded artists to join. Making art full time is a pretty isolating endeavor, so it’s going to be really nice to host larger groups of people, put on events and art shows, and just participate in what this place already has going on.

I’ve been working really hard recently to get the space ready, while staying on top of my own rug projects. I will have more to announce in the near future, along with an opening party, website, and a bunch more options to make tufting more accessible to the community.

Also, huge thanks to the amazing for killing it on the logo design once again & for working with me on the website side.

I am extremely excited for all the things to come, and hope you guys are interested in participating!
