I swung by the middle school track meet yesterday and was reminded,by the smiles on their faces, just how important it is to connect with kids outside of academics! I was able to cheer them on individually, watch them succeed, compliment their efforts and encourage them as they sprinted by! I love telling kids when they are really rocking it-and their faces tell me they love it too!

This is one of my favorite quotes: it’s easy to stand with, teach to, befriend those who get it or think like we do. The true test of character comes when you recognize and advocate for those who DONT think like we do, who need more or something else!
