We can’t believe the Multnomah County East County Flagship Library Project is finally complete! This gorgeous new public library, designed by Holst Architecture and constructed by Fortis Construction, focuses on community input and impact. Alliant Systems, a design-assist partner to Fortis, has led the plumbing, HVAC, and piping systems coordination and installation for the project. Special features include radiant flooring, AERMEC Air to Water Heat Pumps (AWHP), two-pipe slab recessed Jaga forced air convection units, AAON Air Handing Units (AHU), beautiful plumbing fixtures and features, hydronic piping and more.
This project was a CLT challenge and took a large BIM coordination effort from our in-house modeling team. Significant effort was taken to coordinate prefabricated pe*******on locations in the CLT decking, and it was crucial to keep our mechanical and plumbing systems hidden to let the CLT be the main feature of the space.

Last week, our team had the honor of attending the Architecture Foundation of Oregon (AFO) Honored Citizen Banquet, celebrating this year’s honoree, Ernesto Fonseca.
Ernesto’s work embodies the power of community-driven leadership. Through his role at Hacienda CDC and his service on multiple boards, including the Oregon Community Foundation, iSector, and Governor Kotek’s Housing Production Advisory Council. He continues to inspire meaningful change in housing, equity, and opportunity across Oregon and beyond.
It was an unforgettable evening filled with celebration, connection, and even a lively mariachi band to mark the occasion! 🎶
