Join us this week as we explore heart health beyond cholesterol. ❤️

Cholesterol numbers matter, but they are only one part of the picture. Inflammation, stress, sleep, metabolic health, movement, nutrition, and other lifestyle factors can all influence cardiovascular health over time.

We’ll be sharing more about what a comprehensive, whole-person approach to heart health can look like—and why prevention matters long before disease develops.

Prevention is powerful. At The Flourish Center, we help patients take a more proactive, whole-person approach to health.

This week at The Flourish Center, we’re focusing on the nervous system and stress physiology with Jen Owen, NP.

Stress is not just something we feel emotionally. It can show up in the body through fatigue, tension, sleep changes, digestive symptoms, blood sugar shifts, inflammation, hormone changes, and that familiar feeling of being “wired but tired.”

Your nervous system plays a role in nearly every aspect of health. When the body is constantly on alert, it can be harder to rest, repair, digest, sleep well, regulate energy, and feel grounded.

This is why Lifestyle Medicine and integrative care are about more than nutrition and exercise. Supporting the nervous system is an important part of helping the whole body function more smoothly.

This week, we’ll be sharing more about how chronic stress affects the body, what stress physiology can look like, and how integrative care can help you better understand what your body may be trying to tell you.

Stress physiology is real, measurable, and important.

At The Flourish Center, we are grateful to have Julia Chapman, LMFT, PMH-C as part of our collaborative community.

Julia offers individual and couples therapy, with areas of focus that include trauma, relationships, perinatal mental health, and emotional healing.

Trauma can affect the way people see themselves, relate to others, experience safety, and move through the world. Julia’s work supports trauma survivors in processing shame, rebuilding a sense of power and safety, and beginning to rewrite the stories they carry about themselves.

Her approach is grounded, compassionate, and deeply respectful of each person’s lived experience.

You can learn more about Julia and her work at juliachapmanpsychotherapy.com.
