517 RC Motorplex

Racers, I’m sorry to announce, this weekend’s 517 Championship Series points race has been canceled due to unfavorable weather and saturated grounds. Although we can pit on the slab, the parking areas are wet.

Several inches of rain fell Wednesday, more Thursday morning, and strong storms are expected Friday and DURING Saturday’s racing program. Unlike LSDOs, these rains have dropped water atop the fastest RC dirt oval in Texas! Fastest.....

This allows time to adjust your weekend plans and, if you choose, travel elsewhere to race. I dislike rainouts, especially because rescheduling make-up dates can be difficult and I feel like the Grinch!

With that in mind, would you racers be interested in holding our series make-up race on Saturday, May 30th, NEXT weekend!!

• June 6th: Off – Lone Star Dirt Oval Series, Thompsons
• June 20th - WFO For Wilcox, Thunderbird Speedway
* June 27th: Round #4 – 517 Championship Series – 6pm start

** Summer Heat Break
* July 9-11th - RC Dirt Nationals, Lufkin, Texas
• July 25th: Callouts, enter/draw & callout, 3 laps, plus club event.
• August 22nd: Club Race – 5pm start
• August 29th: Off – Lone Star Dirt Oval Series, Thunderbird
** End of Summer Heat Break

* Sept.19th: Round #5 – 517 Championship Series – 4pm
• Sept. 26th: Off – Lone Star Dirt Oval Series, N-Control
• Oct. 3rd: Round #6 – 517 Championship Series – 4pm start
** Tribute night, Troy Kettler. We will discuss the details.
• Oct.17th: Off – Lone Star Dirt Oval Series, Thompsons

* December a Toys for Tots or donation race is on my mind. I'm thinking of bringing a county official to ensure our donations and goods do to those that need it most!! We might do a bicycle donation as well. Lots of planning still be thought out.
