🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙

Today is one of the busiest days of the year for animal shelters because so many frightened pets go missing after fireworks begin.

Please take a few minutes to help keep your dogs safe:

• Keep them indoors all day and evening.
• Double-check that all gates and doors latch securely.
• Put up a barrier near frequently used doors to prevent accidental escapes.
• Create a safe, quiet space where they can relax.
• Turn on music, the TV, or a fan to help mask the sound of fireworks.
• Make sure your dog’s microchip information is current.
• Put a collar with identification tags on your dog—even if they never wear one inside.

No ID tag? No problem. Write your phone number on a piece of masking tape, duct tape, painter’s tape, or a thick zip tie and wrap it around the collar, or write directly on the collar with a permanent marker.

Also, take a current full-body and face photo of your dog today. If the unthinkable happens, having recent photos can make a huge difference in getting them home quickly.

Remember, fireworks reach approximately 150–190 decibels. Dogs hear much higher frequencies than we do—up to 45,000–65,000 Hz—making fireworks not just startling, but potentially overwhelming and even painful.

A little preparation today can prevent heartbreak tonight.

Stay safe, and have a happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Remember Pixely?

Nearly 1,000 reactions.
Over 800 shares.
Hundreds of comments telling us she deserved a family.

And yet…

Not one adoption application.

Pixely doesn’t know she went viral.
She only knows she wakes up in a kennel every morning waiting for someone who still hasn’t come.

Sharing saves lives—but only when it reaches the right person.

If you’ve ever thought, “Someone else will adopt her,” this is your reminder that no one has.

Could that someone be you?

It breaks our hearts 💔

Because honestly? We thought someone would have scooped him up by now.

Spock is everything people say they want in a dog.

A stunning Cane Corso. A giant goofball. A 110-pound lap dog who somehow believes personal space is optional.

At just a year and a half old, Spock has already experienced more heartbreak than he deserved. He was abandoned and left to fend for himself, his ears crudely butchered by someone who failed him long before rescue found him.

But Spock never let that change who he is.

Despite everything, his heart remains enormous.

He lives for affection. Full-body pets. Belly rubs. Leaning all 110 pounds into you because being close is never close enough. His zoomies are legendary, and watching this giant boy race around with pure joy is impossible not to smile at.

He’s wonderful with children, gets along well with other dogs, and even tolerates the antics of cattle dogs without complaint. The only thing we ask is that feeding time be managed separately from other dogs, as he can be protective of his food.

As for cats? He hasn’t been tested, but based on his temperament, we believe a slow, proper introduction would give him every chance to succeed.

Spock doesn’t know he’s a “big dog.”

He just knows he wants someone to love.

Someone to lean on.

Someone to follow from room to room.

Someone to call family.

And after everything he’s been through, we think it’s finally time he found one.
