I’m Johnny Ray. I’ve been obsessed with the voice for most of my life. I trained for nearly a decade under Maestro Mario Laurenti, building a foundation in classical technique that still shapes how I sing today. I later earned a Professional Certificate in Voice from Berklee College of Music, but the real education came from years on stage, in studios, and in the trenches of metal and rock where technique has to survive the real world.

I’m a recording artist, a high tenor, and the lead vocalist for multiple projects including The Mourning and 3 Headed Snake. I know what it feels like to chase the perfect take, to prepare for major shows, and to fight through the storms of performance anxiety. I’ve lived the highs and lows that singers talk about behind closed doors. That experience is what grounds everything I teach.

My coaching is personal. I do not run generic lessons. I get to know your voice as if it were an instrument I’m responsible for shaping. Over time I learn your habits, your strengths, your sticking points, and the unique character of your tone. From there I tailor our work so we focus on exactly what will move you forward.
