Shadow Can Am cars from the USA to the UK - at the Goodwood motor circuit last weekend (April 13/14). They put on quite a demonstration. Next they move to the Festival of Speed at Goodwood House, July 11-14.
July 2, 1907. American inventor/automobile builder and race car driver, John Walter Christie is in France for the Grand Prix de l'Automobile Club de France. Here is a 115 year old video clip of Christie starting the race. Look closely and you can see his riding mechanic, Lewis Strang, jumping into the car at the last minute.
There have been very few American Grand Prix cars designed by actual American designers, that raced in European Grand Prix.

Sad news today, Dr Fred Simeone passed away last night.
Several years ago he invited me to give a presentation on the state of the art of 3D printing sand castings. Afterward, he gave myself, my wife and a few friends a person tour of his incredible museum. It was one of the best days of my life. What a great man.
