Good Monday afternoon, everyone. Last week, we submitted 38 mosquito samples to the LSU Disease Diagnostic Lab for testing; no samples tested positive for disease presence.
This morning's landing rate assessments indicated low mosquito counts at every location except for two specific areas. Those areas, along with parks and recreation areas, will be sprayed this week. Mosquito population counts (and the need for further control efforts) will be reevaluated mid-week with gravid trap collections and landing rate assessments. Larvicide operations, mainly catch-basin larvicide inspections/treatments, will be a focus this week.
