Accent Pontiac, an El Sistema-inspired music program in Pontiac, MI, launched its pilot program on January 10th, 2017. The program is partnering with Walt Whitman and Alcott Elementary Schools and Pontiac Middle School. Accent Pontiac is currently serving approximately 125 second and third grade students. Summer Now! is a national granting and learning program designed to expand access to high-quality summer music learning opportunities for young musicians across the El Sistema USA network. The initiative helps organizations strengthen existing summer programs while also launching new initiatives that create meaningful learning experiences for young people.
