If you’re looking for a place to slow down, get outside, and enjoy some beautiful East Bay scenery, one of my favorite spots is Lake Chabot Regional Park.
It’s one of those places that feels like a true escape, even though it’s close to home. With green hills, open space, and fresh air all around, it’s easy to forget how nearby it really is.
There’s plenty to enjoy here. You can fish, boat, picnic, stroll the trails, or relax by the marina with a coffee from the café. If you’re feeling adventurous, rent one of the iconic swan boats and spend some time on the water.
And for horse lovers, the park connects with nearby equestrian trails leading toward Anthony Chabot Regional Park, giving riders even more room to explore.
It’s a reminder that some of the best parts of living in the East Bay are the natural spaces right in our backyard.
If you haven’t visited lately, this is a great season to go.

Homeownership is one of the most powerful ways people build long-term wealth.
It’s not just about having a place to live. Over time, a home can become a financial foundation.
As you make payments, you’re building equity instead of paying rent. As the market changes, your home may also appreciate in value. And over the years, those two factors together can create meaningful financial growth.
What I always remind clients is that this doesn’t happen overnight.
Real estate is a long-term strategy. It rewards consistency, patience, and making smart decisions along the way.
That’s why timing, preparation, and having the right plan matter so much.
If you’re thinking about buying, or even just wondering how homeownership could fit into your long-term goals, I’m always happy to talk it through with you.

It’s easy to focus on the big numbers like purchase price or sale price, but the details underneath can quietly change the picture.
Things like closing costs, moving expenses, small repairs, taxes, staging, insurance, or even consumer debt obligations can all impact what feels comfortable and what actually makes sense.
I always encourage clients to look at the full financial picture before making a move, not just the headline number.
The people who feel the most confident in a transaction are usually the ones who planned for the expenses they didn’t immediately see coming.
A little preparation upfront keeps you from feeling stressed later.
That’s one of the biggest ways I help clients stay clear, calm, and on course throughout the process.

Another thing I love about Castro Valley Marketplace is that it keeps surprising you.
Every corner has something different, and it’s one of those places where you can easily spend more time than you planned because there’s just so much to explore.
The natural grocery is a gem on its own, with high-quality, sustainable products and a great selection of natural foods.
Then you’ve got Barron’s Meats, which feels like an old-school butcher shop tucked right into the marketplace. From dry-aged steaks and prime rib to house-made sausages, it’s the kind of place food lovers get excited about.
And if you know me, you know I always save room for the bakery.
Seven Hills Bakery is absolutely worth finding, and my personal favorite is the apricot almond croissant. They also have incredible breads, muffins, cinnamon buns, and so many baked treats that it’s hard to choose.
This is one of those local spots that makes Castro Valley such a fun place to explore.
If you haven’t been yet, make time for it. You’ll probably leave with more than you planned, and that’s part of the charm.
