LK Cooking
I have hated having a mid-December birthday my entire life. Everyone is always too busy to get together, people are burnt out from Christmas prep, and it's always snowy and cold.
But a few years ago, I decided to change that. I started taking matters into my own hands, and having the day I wanted. At first, it was just dinner or even a trip with my husband, because in my mind, my friends were too busy and wouldn't want to get together.
2 years ago, I decided to stop worrying and just do it. I invited all of my friends, just like we did as kids, to a "favorite things" party at my house. But instead of them bringing me a gift, I put together a collection of my favorite things to give to them, as a thank you for being a part of my life. It was the best feeling ever.
This year, along with the help of some of my favorite small/local businesses, I put together goodie bags again. And I was able to put together an extra bag to do a giveaway for one of you! But here's how I want it to work-
I want this to be a selfless giveaway. Tag one of your friends, and tell me why they're such a great friend to you. I'll pick one to deliver the bag to! Tag away!!π©·
(Unfortunately this is limited to Utah, and because I'll have to drive to deliver it, has to be no further south than Provo and no further north than South Jordan. If you live in this area, I can also deliver it to you for you to take to them!)π«Ά

I've been thinking a lot lately about LK Cooking and how I got here. May marks 6 years of quitting my stable, "respectable" job to pursue something crazy.
It started as a weekly meal prep service. I'd go to people's homes and cook a few days worth of meals for them. It was pretty thankless, because I never got to experience them enjoying my food. I just barely discontinued this service about a month ago, after tapering off my last few clients.
Now, it's mainly corporate event caterings, traveling with families and businesses to cook during their trips, and classes! Group classes, private classes, hands on classes, and demonstration style classes. π
Now, I get to be in the kitchen with YOU, experiencing food and the joy that it brings right alongside you. Whether I created the food for you, or I helped you create it for yourself, that is my absolute favorite part of my job! π
Food is more than simply fuel that keeps our bodies moving. It teaches us to create, to experiment. We use food to bring people together, through family dinners and late night treat runs with friends. It heals us, whether from the actual nutrients in the food or the comfort it can bring.
At the end of the day, all I want is to help you find the same joy that food brings me. As said the other day- food is therapy. I'll keep sharing my food therapy as long as I'm aliveβΊοΈβ€οΈ

This freshened up version of chicken pad thai is made on a regular basis around here, and it's about time you learned why!
It has all the key flavors from your favorite takeout pad thai- marinated chicken, delicious sauce, crispy bean sprouts, chewy rice noodles...but none of the complicated steps or unique kitchen tools needed!
It comes together SO quick (this one is genuinely on your table in less than 30 minutes, including marinating and chopping time!), so what are you waiting for??
Click the link in my bio (or find a direct link in my stories), then tag me when you make it! π
P.S. isn't this shot from INCREDIBLE?! This dish was hard to shoot in the past (you should've seen the previous picture on my website...π
) But Sheena absolutely nailed the colors and the lighting here!π―

I've searched for a good white bean chicken chili for years, and I just haven't found it. So, I created my own! This green chile chicken chili will rock your world. Go to Studio 5's website (they're better at food blogging than I am, ha!), for the recipe!
Speaking of food blogging- I'm working with my web developers ( is the best!), along with food photographers to work on updating my blog this year! I have so many recipes in my archives that I want to share with you guys. I promise we're working on it!π
