Customer came in with an iPad Pro 12.9” (5th Gen) charging issue after another shop “replaced the battery” and claimed it charging customer found out it charged on certain cables. We checked yep sure enough would only charge on USB-A, not USB-C. We opened it up expecting charge/USB IC… and found the real problem: a damaged USB-C port they never replaced. Swapped the port—boom—charging perfectly
This is how you tie your cables with out a cable tie, and the least amount of damage to the cable
