Today is HIV Is Not a Crime Awareness Day—a day to recognize the harmful impact of outdated HIV criminalization laws, which disproportionately affect Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ communities. These laws are rooted in stigma, not science, and contribute to injustice rather than public health. But HIV is not a crime, and we must work together to fight misinformation and discrimination.

We can make a difference by educating ourselves and others about these laws, advocating for policy changes based on science, and challenging the stigma that people living with HIV continue to face. Everyone deserves dignity, respect, and access to healthcare without fear of criminalization.

We’re committed to supporting our community by offering free HIV testing seven days a week at multiple locations in Fort Lauderdale. Knowing your status is powerful—it’s a step toward protecting your health and fighting for a future free of stigma and discrimination.
