Parapet construction
Parapets must have the same fire resistance rating as required for supporting walls. On any side adjacent to the roof surface, the parapet must have noncombustible faces for the upper 18 inches to include backflow and protection materials.
When the roof slopes toward a parapet on slopes greater than 2 vertical units in 12 horizontal units (16.7% slope), the parapet will extend the same height as any part of the roof within a distance of 3 feet, and the height should not be less than 30 inches.
