Last week we celebrated the graduation of our 2020-2021 fellowship class and welcomed the new class that will be starting tomorrow. Here we are at the dinner reception (yes, the outgoing fellows are the ones nicely dressed in the middle). It is always amazing how quickly the year seems to go by when we arrive at the graduation reception. It makes me feel old to think that I was standing there as a group with my own co-fellows 12 years ago! It has been an honor and a privilege to be part of the fellowship training program over these past 12 years. I love that I can help make a small difference with helping train great surgeons that will go out across the country and represent our practice.

I walked into my office yesterday afternoon to find this beautiful flower arrangement and amazing thank you card from a surgical patient that I saw last week for a 3-year postoperative visit. It totally made my day brighter and reminded me of the impact we have on people’s lives when we can help get them out of pain. I’m lucky to have amazing patients ☺️ @ Texas Back Institute
