Our cows are milked once a day and live on pasture, with organic grain as a supplement while they are being milked (for energy), and organic alfalfa (for protein) and minerals given free choice. Our breeding plan is to move away from production genetics and towards animals that can produce rich creamy milk without much grain supplementation. All our calves are raised on site, and none of them go to veal production! Bull calves are castrated (for everyone's safety) and raised on pasture as beef steers. Heifer calves (girls) either join our herd or occasionally are available for purchase as a family milk cow or your own.
