From traveling the world as a professional dancer to inspiring the next generation in the classroom, Amanda Valletta has built a career fueled by her passion for both dance and education.

A graduate of Point Park University's M.Ed. in Dance Education program, Amanda credits the program with helping her combine those passions and prepare for a career teaching students of all ages. This fall, she'll begin two new roles as a dance educator in Philadelphia, bringing her unique experience as both a performer and teacher to the next generation.

The Society for Animation Studies, alongside the Pennsylvania Expanded Animation Alliance, brings The Animate Experience conference to Pittsburgh June 15-18 — primarily hosted on Point Park University’s campus in Lawrence Hall and in the University Center.

“We are excited to be a part of this dynamic conversation about animation as a way of understanding behavior and learning, and to welcome thought leaders to our campus,” said Point Park Professor Jonathan Trueblood, M.F.A., director of the animation program, Point Park Film and Animation.
