Being a small business owner certainly has challenges and can be overwhelming at times but getting a hand written thank you note from a customer reminds me that it all matters. I wonder how many thank you notes Jeff at Amazon gets 🤔💭

Did you know that around $0.50 of every $1.00 spent at a local business is reinvested in the local community and other businesses? Compare that to the $0.06 for national chains? It’s a good reminder that to build strong communities we need local businesses and investment and that people are important not just profits.

Successful projects are more than just a good design and the right engineering. Quality construction management and inspection are also very important, even the best designed systems can fail if they are improperly installed. If you zoom in on the large vertical posts in the photo you can see they wooden post was notched for the metal knife plate to go into the column and be bolted. Several of the posts were not properly installed, hopefully the construction inspector for this project has this corrected or verified with the structural engineer that the alternate attachment is ok.
