Corporations vs. Sole Proprietors: Understanding the Real Cost of Giving Back
When it comes to volunteering or donating services for nonprofits, not all businesses can contribute in the same way. 💡 While corporations can send a few employees to volunteer while the rest keep the business running, sole proprietors and independent contractors don’t have that luxury.
For self-employed professionals, time is their business. ⏳ When they volunteer or offer discounts, they’re giving up income, client opportunities, and even long-term growth. That’s a much bigger ask than it may seem.
Half of my yearly labor, including wear and tear on equipment, is pro bono. I’m only one person. So when I say no, it’s not an easy decision—because I’d love to help, but I have to balance giving back with keeping my business alive.
When I decline, it helps assure that I'll be here next year with the ability to serve those I can.
As a community, let’s approach sole proprietors with empathy:
✔️ Collaborate creatively (offer sponsorships or visibility in exchange for their contributions).
✔️ Be transparent about expectations.
✔️ Show appreciation for their sacrifices.
Local businesses thrive when we all work together—but let’s remember to support each other in ways that are meaningful and sustainable. 💛

Why iPhone Photos Look So Good.
📱 Ever wonder why your iPhone photos and videos look amazing on your phone but appear differently elsewhere? Here's the reason:
These visible differences are deliberate design choices by manufacturers to ensure their photos and videos look best on their intended viewing medium—the phone's screen.
When you take a photo, here's what's happening behind the scenes:
✅ Your iPhone takes multiple images in a split second
✅ AI analyzes each one, picking out faces, skies, and objects
✅ It combines the best parts into one shot
✅ The final image is specially tuned for your iPhone's bright display
Your photos are instantly processed, enhanced, and ready to share, looking their best on your iPhone's display. You're in an iPhone bubble or ecosystem. They don't always translate into professional applications or uses.
This is why professionals don't switch to cheaper iPhones and ditch the professional equipment.
