Cause and manner of death are pending autopsy results, toxicology results and further investigation, according to the coroner.

4 killed in overnight crash on rural Westmoreland County road

At around 3:30 am Saturday, a car left State Route 3012 along Sewickley Creek in Yukon, hit a tree and became engulfed in flames, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The names of the victims have not been released pending identification.

Yough School District’s superintendent, Anthony R. DeMaro, released a statement online suggesting the victims may have ties to the district.

“Yough School District is making our community aware of a serious accident that occurred overnight.

A car accident involving multiple individuals has been reported, and we have received information indicating that there were fatalities.

At this time, we have limited details and are awaiting confirmation from appropriate authorities so that we have accurate information.”

PSP says the coroner will do “rapid DNA testing” in order to identify the victims.
