Welcome back to another episode of Is the Wiener Worth It™! This time we made a stop at Lynn's Franks in Latrobe, PA.
On our way to Idlewild yesterday, we decided to grab lunch and see what they had to offer. The stand is in a great location, making it the perfect place to stop for a quick bite before a day at the park.
First impressions were great. Service was fast, friendly, and welcoming. They also have outdoor picnic tables, which makes it an ideal spot to enjoy lunch on a beautiful day.
Lynn knows who I am, so we spent a few minutes talking hot dogs and the food truck business.
A little behind-the-scenes fun fact: I actually keep all of the local hot dog businesses blocked on social media. It's not because of competition or hard feelings. I genuinely want everyone to succeed. I simply think it's healthier for all of us to create independently without constantly seeing each other's ideas or having people compare who copied whom. It allows every business to develop its own identity, and I think that's a good thing.
Now, onto the food.
I ordered the Big Mick, their take on a Big Mac-inspired hot dog. The presentation was excellent, and the bun was easily my favorite part. It tasted incredibly fresh—I'd be willing to bet it comes from a local bakery.
The toppings worked well together, and the dog was enjoyable overall. If I had one critique, it felt like it was missing one small element that would have taken it to the next level. I just couldn't quite put my finger on what it was.
🌭 Big Mick Score: 7.9/10
For anyone wondering, a 7.9 is a very respectable score—especially considering they're in the same market as Underdogz.
The rest of the family ordered the Mac Daddy and the nachos.
⭐ Piper gave her Mac Daddy a 9/10. ⭐ Parker thought the nachos were amazing, and she even asked if we could stop back for seconds on the way home. ⭐ Keli's Mac Daddy earned an 8/10, according to Parker.
Overall, those are some pretty impressive scores from the family.
Even better, we fed our family of four for just $26, which is an outstanding value.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the Craft Beer Fest at St. Clair Park today!

We had an absolute blast serving up hot dogs, sharing laughs, and connecting with so many awesome people in our community. The weather tried to throw us a curveball, but you all stuck it out through the rain and made it an incredible day. We truly appreciate every single person who stopped by the Underdogz stand.

And yes... I may have sampled a few brews along the way. 🍻😂

The highlight of the day? A rainbow appeared right over Underdogz. If seeing a rainbow with Underdogz sitting at the end of it like a pot of gold isn't a sign, I don't know what is! 🌈🌭

Days like today remind us why we do this. Good food, great people, lots of laughs, and a community that continues to show up and support local businesses.

Thank you again to everyone who came out, grabbed a dog, shared a smile, and helped make this event such a success. We can't wait to see you at the next one!
