Our resident dancers officially returned to the studio this past week as we begin our 2026/2027 season!✨

After a well deserved spring layoff spent resting, traveling, performing, teaching, and enjoying time with loved ones, our dancers are back in the studio and ready for an exciting season ahead!

We can’t wait to share all of the projects, performances, and opportunities we have in store this year. But first… let’s take a look at how our dancers spent their spring layoff. 🌸

1. While out of the dance studio, Resident Choreographer and dancer Madeline Kendall Schreiber spent time catching up on commissioned work in her art studio. 🎨

2. Resident dancer Sophie Stewart spent time hiking in upstate NY. 🥾

3. Resident dancer Madison Cole took a trip down to Fort Meyers, FL to see her brother star as Duke Henderson in Gulf Coast Symphony’s production of “Sh-Boom!” 🎶

4. Resident dancer Jillian Sinko spent time building their garden this spring. 🪏🌱

5. Resident dancer Kinsey Love traveled to New York City after winning tickets to Dance Theatre of Harlem’s sold-out performance of Firebird. 🐦‍🔥

6. During her spring layoff, Resident dancer Baylee Sullivan traveled to Disney World to celebrate her sister’s bachelorette trip. 💍

7. Resident dancer Katrina May Thomas spent a lot of her time outdoors. 🛶

8. Resident dancer Elaina Sutula caught up with friends and added to her houseplant collection. 🪴

9. This past May Artistic Director Alan Obuzor attended School of American Ballet’s first National Visiting Fellow reunion. He had a great time meeting and talking with fellows from other years, reconnecting with SAB staff, revisiting SAB’s syllabus, observing SAB classes, and watching NYCB perform! 🩰
