After 44 years leading Smith Micro, our founder Bill Smith is stepping into a new chapter.
Bill founded Smith Micro in 1982 and has served as CEO ever since. Building and leading a company for more than four decades is an extraordinary achievement, and his vision shaped the foundation of what Smith Micro is today.
Tim Huffmyer will become President and CEO, effective March 31, 2026, while Bill transitions to the role of Executive Chairman.
Leadership transitions are always meaningful moments for a company, especially when they follow such a long and impactful tenure. Bill’s leadership has guided Smith Micro through multiple generations of technology, industry shifts, and growth. His influence on the company, its people, and its direction is impossible to overstate.
Tim brings a deep understanding of the business from his roles as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, along with strong operational and strategic leadership.
This transition reflects thoughtful succession planning and a continued commitment to building on Smith Micro’s strong foundation.
