Today, we honor the life and legacy of D’Angelo (Michael Eugene Archer) — the Virginia-born visionary who redefined modern soul.

From Brown Sugar to Voodoo to Black Messiah, his music wasn’t just heard — it was felt. A singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, D’Angelo helped shape the neo-soul movement, blending gospel roots, funk, and raw emotion into timeless sound.
