REPOST (): I've had Arnie since he was just a tiny puppy. I remember holding him in my arms and feeling his warm breath against my cheek. From that moment on, I knew we were going to be inseparable.
But raising Arnie is never easy. There were times when I felt like giving up, like I wasn't doing a good enough job. There were days when my dog would misbehave and I would feel so frustrated and helpless. But through it all, we stuck together.
One day, things got particularly tough. I was going through a difficult time in my life with insane amounts of student debt and it felt like everything was falling apart. I didn't know where to turn or who to talk to. But Arnie was there for me. He would come and lay his head in my lap and look up at me with those big, soulful eyes. It was like he was saying, "I'm here for you. I love you no matter what."
I would take him for long walks and we would explore the woods together. We would sit by the river and watch the water flow by. And in those moments, everything else just faded away. It was just me and my dog, and nothing else mattered.
As time went on, things got better. I started to feel like I could handle whatever life threw my way. And Arnie was right there with me, every step of the way. He was my constant companion, my confidante, my friend.
