πFourth of July Safety Tips for Kids π
As we celebrate Independence Day with family, friends, and fun activities, let's make safety a priority so everyone can enjoy the holiday!
β Firework Safety
* Leave fireworks to trained adults and attend community fireworks displays when possible.
* Keep a safe distance from fireworks and sparklers.
* Never allow children to light or handle fireworks.
β Noise Sensitivity Tips
* Fireworks can be loud and overwhelming for some children. Consider bringing noise-canceling headphones or ear protection.
* Let children know ahead of time when fireworks will begin.
* Identify a quiet space where your child can take a break if needed.
β Stay Cool and Hydrated
* Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
* Apply sunscreen regularly and wear hats when spending time outdoors.
* Take breaks in the shade to avoid overheating.
β Water Safety
* Always supervise children around pools, lakes, and other bodies of water.
* Ensure life jackets are worn when appropriate.
β Crowd Safety
* Keep emergency contact information with your child.
* Establish a meeting spot if attending a community event.
* Consider taking a current photo of your child before heading out.
We hope all of our students, families, and staff have a safe, fun, and memorable Fourth of July filled with celebration, laughter, and time together! πβ€οΈπ€π

π€β€οΈπ Happy Juneteenth! πβ€οΈπ€
Today, we recognize and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans throughout history.
At Pressley Ridge School for Autism, we value creating a community where every student, family, and staff member feels seen, respected, and celebrated. Juneteenth provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of freedom, equality, inclusion, and understanding as we continue to learn from one another and grow together.
We encourage our school community to take time today to learn about the significance of Juneteenth, celebrate Black culture and history, and engage in conversations that promote respect, acceptance, and belonging for all.
Wishing everyone a meaningful and reflective Juneteenth. β€οΈπ€π
