Through the warmth of mixing classical with some other genres, listeners can't help but learn the HOW and the WHY we might chose pure classical. CutTime encourages musicians to wear passions on sleeve, take risks, and work with "club rules" regularly. We develop audience participation, from movement, tapping, dancing and even conducting along, as far as the presenter and setting will allow. CutTime rewards the natural curiosity about classical music to create even more. CutTime manages two flagship ensembles of 4-8 players (CutTime Players and CutTime Simfonica®), a portable club classical series (formerly Classical Revolution Detroit), and a large sheet music catalog (150+) of rich symphonic hits and soulful compositions by founder Rick Robinson, a former bassist in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Orchestrations, Rent-a-Composer and Zoom consultations on outreach and education programs are available. During the pandemic, all sheet music (CutTime Players Publishing) will be electronic (PDF), inc. all scores. CutTime® adapts the classical arts for the rest of America! We are hired by orchestras, music schools, music presenters, musicians, venue owners, corporations and wives. It was founded and is directed by former Detroit Symphony Orchestra bassist-composer Rick Robinson (aka Mr. CutTime), who won a Kresge Artist Fellowship in 2010 and a Knight Arts Challenge Grant in 2015, and was featured by NPR, Time magazine, International Musician, Sound of Applause, CVNC, Houston Chronicle, and SFCV.
